Who is behind this initiative?
BFA, AGROFRONT (BOERENBOND, ABS and FWA), FEVIA, UNIZO, UCM and COMEOS, the partners of the Belgian Agro Food Chain Platform, have taken the initiative to write and sign a code of conduct to promote fair relations between suppliers and purchasers. BABM, the Belgilux Association of Branded Products Manufacturers, has also signed the code and participates to the concerned working party of the Agro Food Chain. Why this code of conduct?
Within the Agro Food Chain there are considerable tensions between the economic interests of the consumer and of the operators. In order to better handle these tensions in the future, the organisations of the Belgian Agro Food Chain wish to improve collaboration within the chain and foster good partnership relations. This code of conduct for fair relationships between suppliers and purchasers gives a concrete answer to these challenges. Click here to find out why we have this code of conduct.
How to join and why?
The Code of Conduct is an effective, cost-efficient and transparent solution to presumably unfair trading practices. It is a voluntary system put in place to support the companies of the Agro Food Chain.
